I've had my fair share of gross experiences at stores before, not the least of which, included seeing a college kid vomit in the canned goods aisle in Walmart at 3 a.m. But, that was something that happened to someone else, and I had the ability to walk away.

What just happened to this mom and child at a Dollar Tree in South Bend, Indiana might be the most vile thing I've ever heard.

Earlier this month, WSBT in Indiana reports that Adreanna Shelton and her 9-year-old daughter were shopping for candles at at a Dollar Tree Store, one-by-one opening them, and smelling them to see which one they wanted. Gray, Adreanna's daughter, opened one candle, and when she tipped it back to smell it, a liquid spilled out of it, onto her shirt.

After a few moments, they started to smell a foul odor.

"At first we were like, maybe it's just water, and as we were just walking through the store we got a foul smell, and Gray goes, 'mom, my shirt really stinks."

It was urine. The liquid she spilled on herself from that candle was human urine!!! Someone had peed in the candle, and put it back on the shelf at the dollar Tree.

If there's a high point to this story, the manager they approached about the incident was very apologetic, and gave them a shirt to replace the one now soaked in pee. But unfortunately, that's where the "good" part ends.

It actually gets worse, according to Shelton.

"They have been telling me this has been happening over a month, and they're not able to catch the person doing it, and there's no cameras down the aisle where he is doing it, so the store employees, the manger, has asked corporate to put in cameras in those areas. And corporate just doesn't want to pay for those."

All due respect to candle shoppers who like to open the candles and smell them, but if I'm working at that Dollar Tree, I'm duct-taping every single "openable" item shut in the store, and writing what it is in sharpie on the outside.

I'd rather deal with that, than someone peeing in the candles.

This is insanely disgusting, and what a traumatizing thing for a 9-year-old. She was taken to urgent med to get checked, but no issues were found.

Indiana, I'm disappointed in you. You're supposed to be the low-key, well-behaved southern neighbor to Michigan, but this is some Ohio-level stuff you're pulling right now, and we need you to chill with this... granted... it was at a Dollar Tree, which is kind of the "Ohio" of Dollar stores.
