Interesting to hear talk of fact checking during the upcoming presidential debate.  Not sure I'm onboard with that given I have a very hard time listening and reading at the same time but it did get me to thinking.  Why do we apply it to just politics? Why not apply fact checking to our everyday lives.  So with that in mind, here are some of my everyday checks on the facts of life.

Taco Bell has eliminated over a dozen items from its food menu blaming it on environmental commitments.

JT Fact Check :

FALSE: Look, if there were scientific proof that farting and the passing of the gas releases toxic methane into stratospheric areas and that it will eventually destroy the ozone layer, I might buy it but until that proof is scientifically documented...oh wait...they meant all the paper product they would use when preparing the products would pollute the planet...okay well, no matter...someone better bring back the Frito Burrito or there's gonna be a terse e-mail sent before days end!!

Social Distancing is strictly practiced and adhered to by everyone everywhere in America:

JT Fact Check:

False: Just do this. Go to the gym or movie theater or anywhere where you are surrounded by empty seating or equipment. Sure as hell if If there are 20 empty treadmills, bikes or seats in your row, Joe Blow will pick the machine or seat right next to you. Damn that's annoying.

Chuck Norris recently bought a butter churn from the pre-revolutionary war era so he could churn butter the old school way.

JT Fact Check:

False: Chuck Norris doesn't churn butter. He roundhouse kicks the cows and the butter comes straight out.

Well there ya go. I think I'm going to continue fact checking things in our general life that we barely dispute.  If you can think of anything I missed, please feel free to send it my way and I'll fact check if for you. I don't mind, fact is...it's the American thing to do.
