As recently as December, authorities are doing everything they can to tackle heavy crime, like a bust that recently took place in Akron, as News Nation Now reported:

U.S. Marshals, Akron Police Department and other law enforcement agencies said they spent 30 days combating gun violence and disrupting gang activity in Ohio, resulting in more than 130 arrests. During the operation, authorities said 135 violent fugitives were arrested, and 22 guns were taken off the streets from individuals who are prohibited from possessing them.
