A five night homestand of great family entertainment is planned with drive-in movies at Homer Stryker Field.

We need to change the words to, "buy me some peanuts and popcorn," as the Kalamazoo Growlers are planning five nights of flicks in a row. Dive-in movies have become the new form of safe entertainment in these times of social distancing. The Capri Drive-In of Coldwater has been in the game for decades as a family-owned business. The City of Portage has adapted its annual 'Movies in the Park' series to a drive-in format this year, and now the outfield will be the home of the silver screen at Homer Stryker Field.

For five consecutive nights, June 13-17, five different movies will be shown at the old ball game. Gates open at 5 pm with showtime scheduled for 6:30. Tickets are $30 per vehicle. (Now, before you start loading people in the trunk, the rule is that normal vehicle occupancy rules apply.) Concessions will be available to order in advance and, of course, social distancing and other fan guidelines apply.

  • The Lion King | Saturday, June 13
  • The Sandlot | Sunday, June 14
  • Toy Story 4 | Monday, June 15
