You may recognize Luke Grimes from his roles in American Sniper and Magnificent Seven. He's back in the third season of the critically acclaimed Yellowstone which follows the trials and tribulations of the Dutton family, headed by Kevin Costner. Grimes plays Kayce Dutton on the show, and he took the time out of his busy shooting schedule to talk about Yellowstone on the Rocker Morning Show.

"The first time I read it... I loved it," Grimes said, emphatically,  "and I thought this is a story that I think a lot of people can relate to. It's a very Americana kind of a thing. I'm not surprised that it's doing as well as it's doing."

Yellowstone has found an audience in many different walks of life. There really is something for everyone. Grimes points to the script. "The genius in the thing lies in the writing. Taylor Sheridan writes our show, and he's one of my favorite screenwriters out there right now. The story is very, very relatable even if you don't wear a cowboy hat or like guns or ride horses."
Television and film successes have led Grimes to be a household name, but the Ohio born 34-year-old admits that he's most recognized in the airport... and usually when he's not looking his absolute best. "I'm still a little lazy with the airport outfit. There's a lot of disappointing selfies out there with me."
What's next for Grimes? Yellowstone takes up a considerable amount of his time, so he's focused his career on that project, solely. When he's not on set, he's working on himself. "This job is about half the year for me. And the other half of the year is devoted to getting my personal life going in the direction I want it to go."
