Michigan Residents Outraged Super Bowl Halftime Show Not Targeted Towards Them
Another Super Bowl has come and gone, and as per usual, thousands of Michigan residents are collectively losing their minds at the fact that the Super Bowl halftime show was not personally geared towards them and their taste.
Yes, each tired news brand in the state is asking people what they thought of the show in order to get interaction on their page, and it's going how you'd expect it to go.
Kendrick Lamar is one of the biggest artists in the music industry and culture right now, which is mainly focused on hip-hop, R&B, and pop music. One thing that many people forget to realize is that rock ‘n’ roll is no longer the main focus when it comes to music and what is used in current pop culture.

There Was A Time When Rock n Roll Dominated Halftime Shows
Many make an argument that a classic rock band should be playing the halftime show, and as much as I personally would love to see that, it’s not a very realistic hope. Mainly considering that there are not too many artists that are well-known enough or relevant enough to be put in such a primetime slot.
Sure, there are still legends of rock ‘n’ roll, many of which who have done the halftime show before. Fans like The Who, U2, the Rolling Stones, Tom Petty, Bruce Springsteen, and Paul McCartney were all a part of a wave of artists in the 2000s that dominated the halftime scene.
So it’s easy to say that in that time frame, the hip-hop community was not well represented during the halftime show. Fast-forward to today and the exact opposite can be said. Over the past decade, the show has been filled with Pop/ R&B and Hip-Hop.
Kendrick Lamar went home with five Grammys this year over what many consider to be the biggest diss song ever, taking shots at the rapper, Drake, over his alleged association with underage women.
Not ironically enough, Ted Nugent also seemed to chime in about the performance on his Facebook:
The “jailbait“ singer, who admittedly has had several affairs with underage girls, according to his behind-the-music episode, also took exception to the performance. But as Kendrick Lamar’s Grammy award-winning, “Not Like Us” song says:
Try’na strike a chord, and it’s prob’ly a minooooooooooor.
Ted Nugent has never had a #1 song.
