Tigers Affiliate in West Michigan Wins Award For Best Team

The Detroit Tigers had the worst record in baseball this past year but their minor league team in West Michigan had a very memorable season.  They lost out in the playoffs but  were still recognized by winning an award for best team. 

According to MILB,  the Class A West Michigan Whitecaps  won the MILBY for best team in Minor League Baseball.   The MILBYs are voted on by the fans and the staff of MILB.  They give out awards for the best in Minor League Baseball.

The Whitecaps had the best winning percentage in the Minor Leagues winning 91 games through the season. They also picked up both regular season division titles.

The team's pitching staff was the top in nearly every pitching category.   The offense also was decent finishing third in their league.

With success like this lets hope we will eventually see this talent make their way to Detroit and The Majors.
