Omega Block Weather Pattern Carrying Snow Is About To Move Through Michigan
We are officially into May, which means good weather, healthy rain showers, and a colorful and lush landscape around Michigan. The last thing we need right now is news that there is a storm pattern that contains snow that could be making its way into Michigan.
Unfortunately, that’s exactly what’s happening right now as weather patterns are setting up to create a unique pattern that will affect much of the country, including parts of Michigan.

The bad news is that this weather pattern does carry some snow to go along with it. The weather pattern is called an Omega Block, which is a congested atmospheric pattern that flows through the jet stream in the shape of the Greek letter Omega.
The jet stream is expected to carry from California to New York with all sorts of different weather effects.
In fact, the weather channel is basically saying it’s gonna have an upside-down temperature pattern, saying that highs in the Midwest could be very much like temperatures in the south early next week.
There is some good news to take away from this as Michiganders, as they describe what the weather could look like for us:
Cooler weather and even some May snow will nestle into the Rockies, while rainy or stormy weather will anchor into the Plains and Northeast on either side of the pattern. Spotty flooding may also be possible in the Plains or Northeast due to the sluggish nature of this pattern.
So yes, even though there is some snow attached to this omega block, it seems that the only effects that Michigan should see are some rain and colder weather before heating back up. I don’t think my soul could handle another snowstorm until six months from now.
